XIVth International Orthoptic Association Congress 9-11 June 2022
The date is fast approaching for the Virtual (Liverpool) International Orthoptic Congress, which sadly had to be postponed from 2020 due to the pandemic and will now be held virtually for the first time in the history of the IOA.
The Local Organising Committee and Congress Scientific Committee are proud to present the programme for the Congress. This exciting 3-day event includes over 90 accepted submissions from 15 different countries. The submissions demonstrate how orthoptists are continuing to develop their practice, extending it to new areas and contributing to good clinical science. Delegates can look forward to hearing from experienced scientists and researchers as well as new presenters.
The necessity of an online format has presented particular challenges such as reducing the length of a full congress and accommodating the vast time zones of delegates. To be mindful of everyone’s time in front of a computer screen we have modified some activities (for this conference only) with a pause in the workshops and a reduction in the number of invited symposia. We are delighted that the ISA will be giving us a truly international update on cranial nerve palsies and look forward to hearing the long awaited Burian Lecture. The programme contains ten themed sessions that will certainly stimulate the interest of all attendees, as well as the inclusion of interactive poster sessions.
Details of the programme can be viewed HERE
We are promising a unique interactive meeting that brings presenters and delegates together to share and exchange new ideas within our profession. An advantage of a virtual conference is that all registered delegates will have access to programme material for a duration of 3 months post-congress.

We wish you stimulating and interactive IOC 2022 conference!
